Rosalia was at church this morning.  Today is Aunt Mary’s birthday she is 54 years old.  We went out there this evening.  The bunch came and then they danced “what a time?!”  Lemonade and cake were served.  They left at 12 o’clock.  We got our invitation for a dance down at Wiegand’s house next Friday night, Clem Parker & Aaron Papenberg are giving it.  It sure is a heavy fog this evening.  Talk is out that Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary had a farewell party tonight & Feb. 1 they are going to move to Hecker.  Adam Eckert rented the Kaiser farm east of Hecker where Joe Herzog is now living.  Christ Buehler intends to rent Mrs. Threfall’s farm.

Today is Bertille’s birthday she is 16 years old.  She went to church this morning.  Papa went out to Henry’s today.  Osie Neff is butchering a cow for him.  Papa had dinner there.  Henry wants to sell the beef.  Osie Neff was busy with some thing else today, so he couldn’t butchered the cow for Henry.  George Boll did it.  Papa brought 3 lbs. roast & some liver along home.  Henry & Rosalia went and delivered & sold some beef.  He has it almost all sold now.  Henry & family, Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Mr. & Mrs. Cleveland & son Grover & teacher Miss Klinklenberg & Emil Brand were all here celebrating Bertille’s birthday.  The men played solo all but Henry & him & ladies played pinochle.  Cake, lemonade were served.

Today is Halloween.  “Look out for tricks.”  Papa went up to Neff and Staufenbiel to get crushing down this morning.  Papa, Rosalia, and Bertille went to confession this afternoon.  Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were here a little while before she went up to church.  Ralph Wiegand was here this evening and invited us to come to the Halloween party in Kammler’s Hall.  But we couldn’t go.  The boys wore overalls and the girls gingham dresses.  Somebody did a dirty Halloween trick at the Blackburn School.
