Rosalia is got them spots all over this morning, so I guess in a few days she will be alright again.  Papa took 8 doz. eggs off & got 12¢.  This afternoon a fellow from Belleville was here & looked at our chickens, he wanted to buy 6 for $1.50 a piece, but Papa wanted $2.00.  So he bought 6½ doz. eggs from the White Rocks, selling eggs for 25¢ a doz.  We got a Valentine yesterday & today, one from Rosie & Mamie Mueth.  Joe Miller from Waterloo got buried the other day, that is Bess Miller’s dad.  The transfer of Ben Schilling to Clara Braun was also in the paper.  Quernheim’s are going to have their new funeral apartment open on Main St. next Sunday from 9 to 5, everybody should come to see it.  Papa took a letter to Chicago Mail Order to the bank this morning.  Mr. Pinkel said, he would take charge of it.  That he would send it away tomorrow.  We send a Valentine to Rosie & Mamie today.

They say today is Joe & Lee Gregson’s birthday, I thought it was on the 10th.  Yesterday was to be the church picnic at Round Prairie Church.  I guess they had it, I don’t know, it was to be last Sun. but they postponed it on account of rain, but it was worse yesterday.  Papa went up to Hecker with the machine this morning to get some laying mash for the chickens.  Victor Eichenseer was here and looked at the valve in the tank in the basement.  Henry came up this morning too.  He said the roads weren’t bad only if you meet some one, he had chains on.  We sold 57 lbs. springs [chickens], 50 lbs at .20¢ and 7 lbs. at .18¢.  Papa took up this afternoon, and also 4 doz. eggs at .25¢.  It was raining all most all day.  We got 2 socks of laying mash so for now yesterday we found 21 eggs.  We patched stockings today while it was raining.  Rosalia went to get the paper this evening.  Miss Lucille Miller won the Chev. Roadster last Sat. night for having the most votes of the popularity contest.

Today there is homecoming in New Athens.  This evening we went out to Henry’s a little while, they are going to thrash Monday morning.  I saw in the paper that Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Koch have the blessing of a little boy since last Thursday.  They now have a boy and a girl.  Mr. [and Mrs.] Jacob Miller celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on July 2.
